Baked Rice with Onion
A nice and quick side for ANY meal.
Time:
• Prep: ~10 Minutes
• Cooking: 20 Minutes
Ingredients
• 2 Part Boiling Water (or chicken / beef broth / “Better Than Bouillon”)
• 1 Part Rice
○ For small baking dish 1/2 C Rice & 1 C Water
○ For Large baking dish (9x) 2 C Rice and 4 C Water
• Chopped Onion
Directions
○ Preheat oven to 425°F
○ Sautee Onion
○ Boil Water/Broth/“Better Than Bouillon”
○ Grease baking disk or Dutch oven
○ Place Onion in bottom a baking disk
○ Place Rice in baking dish
○ Season: Salt, Cajan, Garlic Powder, etc
○ Add boiling water/broth to dish.
○ Cover the baking dish with foil.
○ Bake at 425°F for 20 minutes.
Notes
• Water must be boiling when added to baking dish with rice.
• Be sure to cover the rice while baking. You want to rice to steam while cooking in the oven.
• You can use chicken or beef broth to add move flavor. I usually add “Better Than Bouillon” to the water.
