Spinach Creamed with Cheese

I love creamed spinach and this is as good as any steakhouse creamed spinach.

Servings: 4

Time:

• Prep: ~20 Minutes

• Baking: ~30 Minutes


Ingredients

• 12 oz Frozen Spinach cooked and drained.

• 1 1/2 Tbs Flour

• 1 Cup Whipping Cream

• 3 Tb Butter

• Salt & Pepper

• 3/4 Cup Grated Swiss Cheese

• 2 Tb Fine Bread Crumbs


Directions

○ In a pan or skillet heat the spinach with 1 1/2 Tb butter until the butter is melted

○ Sprinkle in the flour

○ Stir for 2 more minutes to cook the flour.

○ Lower heat and stir in 2/3 of the cream.

○ Cook slowly for 15 minutes stirring frequently.

○ Add remaining cream as needed to keep moist.

○ Salt and pepper to taste.

○ Slowly stir in cheese.

○ Slowly stir in bread crumbs.

○ 30 minutes before serving place in greased pan and place in 375 degree oven until thoroughly heat and brown the top lightly.
